Plans for the city of San Francisco to purchase PG&E assets look like they took a step further with the release of a report from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) on the feasibility of the idea.
The study was done at the behest of Mayor London Breed. She said the report demonstrates that acquiring PG&E’s assets “is feasible and could be a significant step in meeting our aggressive climate goals while also prioritizing safety, transparency, and affordability for our residents.” She added that more study is needed, and the SFPUC should work closely with the city attorney’s office on the project assessments.
