Art addicts inclined to think it’s time to pitch grandmother’s oil painting in the dumpster may well reconsider at the North Beach ArtWalk, Sept. 22–23 — unless grandmother happens to be Grandma Moses, that is.
Now in its fifth year and sponsored by the Telegraph Hill Dwellers (THD), ArtWalk promises to show and sell the work of more than 50 local artists. The THD has set out to benefit artists and businesses by pairing an artist with area galleries, studios, restaurants, and shops.
The ArtWalk headquarters will be Kevin Brown’s wonderfully named gallery-studio, Live Worms on Upper Grant. Artists will display a piece of their work throughout the weekend. Attendees can view samples, take an ArtWalk map, and then set out to view whatever turns them on.
5th Annual North Beach ArtWalk: starts at Live Worms Gallery, 1345 Grant Avenue (near Green), 415-307-1222, [email protected]. Parking $3 at Golden Gateway Garage (250 Clay St. near Davis) with free shuttle to Broadway and Grant, validation at Live Worms.
