UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Oct. 26, 1:30 a.m.
Steiner Street at Filbert
Officers responded to a report of a possible kidnapping. The caller gave a description of the van involved, which officers quickly located a few blocks away. The driver attempted to get out of the van and then fell back inside. The officers made contact with the driver and saw that there was no other person in the van. The driver explained that he was in a fight with his girlfriend and he left to get away from her.
As the officers spoke to the driver, they noticed he had a strong alcoholic odor on his breath and his eyes were bloodshot. The officers believed the driver was drunk, so they gave him a field sobriety test, which he failed. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Mission Station for a breath test, and then to County Jail, were he was booked.

Nov. 9, 9:30 a.m.
Chestnut Street at Steiner
Northern Station’s homeless outreach officers were on patrol when they recognized a subject they knew was wanted. The officers detained the subject, confirmed the warrant, and booked the subject for an outstanding parolee-at-large warrant.
DOWN BUT NOT OUT
Nov. 18, 1:30 am
Lombard Street at Steiner
Midnight-shift officers responded to a call of a fight in progress. When they arrived, they found the victim on the ground with the suspect on top, punching the victim in the head. The officers jumped out of their car and detained the suspect. The officers then tended to the victim, who had blood running down his face. As the officers were tending to everything that was going on, they observed a subject walking away from the scene after throwing a wallet to the ground. An officer retrieved the wallet and found it belonged to the victim. After the officers conducted an investigation, two suspects were arrested for robbery and assault and booked at Northern Station. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for a possible fractured right orbital that required several stitches above his left eye.
PUSHED THE WRONG WAY
Nov. 18, 10:30 p.m.
Vallejo Street at Van Ness
Officers responded to a local business regarding a subject possibly casing the place. The officers met with the caller and got a description of the subject, who had just left the business. Officers located a person matching the description. They attempted to get the subject to stop but he refused, swore at them, and continued to walk. The officers then held on to the subject’s arm, but he was able to break free and started running. The subject then ran toward one of the officers and attempted to tackle him. The officer held on to the subject’s jacket, but as he spun around his jacket came off. The subject fell to the ground; as an officer approached him, he jumped up and tried to punch the officer. The subject was taken into custody even though he continued to struggle. One officer sustained an abrasion to his knee and his uniform was slightly damaged. A computer check showed the subject was on active parole for robbery. The officers contacted an on-duty parole agent who revoked his parole. The subject was also booked for injuring the officer and resisting arrest.
