Polk Street Fight

Merchants and residents have formed the Save Polk Street Coalition to fight a city plan to replace 20 blocks of on-street parking with new bike lanes. The coalition is meeting on March 18 at It’s a Grind coffee shop (1800 Polk Street) to discuss the matter. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has suggested that there is plenty of alternative nearby parking in the neighborhood that could make up for the lost spaces.
