LOCKED AND LOADED
June 24, 6:38 p.m.
Fillmore Street at Filbert
Officers responded regarding a male who had a gun. They were directed to a security guard who had a male detained inside a local bar, handcuffed and lying on his stomach. The security guard handed officers a .357 revolver and told them that he had unloaded it for safety reasons. Officers read the subject his rights and asked him if he had ever been arrested. The subject told the officers that he was arrested for drug offenses in the past and needed the gun for protection, saying that he had been labeled as a “snitch” and numerous people intended to kill him.
Officers were then directed to a witness who wished to remain anonymous, but who overheard the subject telling someone that he had a gun. The witness saw the butt of the revolver and notified security. The security guards were able to detain and disarm the subject without further incident. The male was booked at Northern Station.
PUSHY PANHANDLER
July 7, 4:45 p.m.
Van Ness Avenue at California
Officers and SFPD command staff receive numerous complaints regarding individuals panhandling along the Van Ness corridor. Officers observed a male engaged in this activity; the subject was approaching vehicles and asking for money in an aggressive manner.
Officers were attempting to speak with the individual when he took off running. Officers were able to stop the male without further incident. A computer check of the male revealed an active and served restraining order prohibiting the male from the very intersection where he
was panhandling.
A search of the subject revealed a crack pipe in his pocket. The male was booked at Northern Station on numerous charges.
GROCERIES NOT ON THE HOUSE
July 7, 6:20 p.m.
Marina Boulevard at Laguna
Officers responded to a theft from a grocery store. Upon their arrival, they met with security who had the subject detained. Security had watched as the male subject walked around the store placing numerous items into his grocery cart. The subject left the store without paying for any of the items; which added up to a large sum of money. Officers ran a computer check on the male and found an outstanding warrant. The subject was booked at Northern Station for the theft and warrant.
HERE A KICK, THERE A KICK
July 18, 10:30 a.m.
Sacramento Street at Buchanan
Officers responded to a call of a fight on a Muni bus involving five people. Dispatch reported that there were numerous people yelling and fighting. People involved said there was one woman causing the entire disturbance and they were attempting to detain her. The woman jumped off the bus after hitting several people and ran into a nearby building. The officers tracked her down and detained her.
Several people had been struck and one person was injured. The victims identified the female and she was arrested and transported to Northern Station. At the station, officers were doing a booking counter search of the female when she kicked one female officer in the leg. The kick did not injure the officer. The female was booked on numerous charges.
