Everyone’s favorite “circus” returns to S.F. since 2019 in its all-new Big Top, (which packs the audience in tightly and warmly). Kooza plays tribute to Cirque’s traditional circus origins and features a self-discovery journey of the “Innocent,” a naïve clown with a kite he cannot fly searching for his place in the world, who is magically transported to a bizarre and exotic world under the watchful eye of a trickster. There the Innocent encounters an “electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity, and total involvement,” which also describes the audience experience. From thrilling feats and gumby-like twisty bodies to sheer athleticism, gorgeous set design, and Cirque’s always haunting-like live music, this show doesn’t disappoint, and the ending is nothing short of touching. $39–$335, circquedusoleil.com
