After 200 years, Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville remains one of the most popular comic operas of all time. As kids, many people were first exposed to Rossini’s bubbly music through the Bugs Bunny cartoon The Rabbit of Seville. Rumor has it that the Bugs Bunny cartoon will make a special appearance at the lecture. Free, 415-292-1200, jccsf.org
